Utah Division of Natural Resources

We were hired but the Utah Division of Natural Resources to create a full-length documentary that provides a comprehensive exploration of the Great Salt Lake, delving into its rich history and the myriad factors contributing to its current decline. Through detailed research and vivid storytelling, the documentary examines the lake’s historical significance, the environmental challenges it faces—including dust pollutants and their impact on air quality—and the crucial role it plays in bird migration. Additionally, it highlights the economic activities dependent on the lake, such as brine shrimp harvesting and salt extraction. By integrating expert interviews, compelling visuals, and on-the-ground footage, this documentary aims to offer a thorough understanding of the lake’s past, present, and the urgent need for sustainable management.
