You could say Eastern Arizona College is in the middle of nowhere. Three hours from Phoenix and four hours from El Paso resides Thatcher, Arizona, home to EA. Originally designed to service only its immediate county and their citizen’s higher education needs, the college gained an opening to expand its enrollment base with changes in the State of Arizona’s college structure. Like every higher education institution, they are now in a constant fight for enrollment, students, funding, and more in a saturated and competitive market. Starting with an updated web presence, followed but an entire marketing and content campaign, we built the strategy upon the college’s location. Thatcher isn’t on the way to anything. You don’t happen to stop through it. If you’re there it’s because it was the destination. Named “Destination EA” our campaign took inspiration from tourism marketing and followed the college’s unique positioning points: it’s affordability compared to state Universities, its small class sizes with responsive and personable teachers, and its small town rural environment.
